Jak is Mar???

Lately I've been on tumblr a lot and I stumbled across a heated argument about how 'Jak is Mar'.  I haven't played any of the Jak games ever since the sophomore year of high school, which was around 2007...or maybe 2008, so the name Mar, really threw me through a loop.

First thought that popped in my head was, "Who is Mar!?!?".

As a Jak fan, I figured I should go find the answer to this very exact question.  The ultimate question was... do I go play all three of
the games again???


First, I did the noble thing of asking my friend that I have mentioned on here a couple of times.  I asked him something along the lines of (through a text) "Who is Mar???? and how is Jak Mar??? O.o".  I'm sure he probably laughed at me on his end but he decided to explain it to me.  The problem was that i wasn't comprehending anything he was saying.  He was talking about some kid from part 2, and then he mentioned something else, but I wasn't understanding any of it (Obviously didn't pay much attention either).

So I had no other choice but to figure the information out myself because I can be a bit of an air head at times XD.

As for the first game, Jak and Daxter was certainly a fun game, but there were a lot of missions that had nothing to do with the story line.

Then there was Jak II.  Yes, I am a better gamer than four or five years ago but Jak II was extremely long. I remembered all of the tedious things I had to deal with that video game, and all of the failed attempts on certain missions  (ex. the race track near the middle/end of the game -thats an entire another story all together-).  I also remembered the soundtrack of the video game at certain parts was quite annoying.

Now, I don't mind playing Jak III.  Maybe I had an easier time with Jak III because I was much older then.  It was certainly a great game to play.  Jak was still bad ass, and I was able to run around with guns and motor vehicles....what is there not to like???

Sorry, I'm rambling, so the important question was who the hell is Mar?

Well while scrolling through tumblr's tag section of 'Jak and Daxter', I stumbled across a video of the movie version of all three games.   Yes thats right! An hour and a half worth of Jak and Daxter that will explain everything to me and answer my question most definitely! Not only that, but the movie comes with Daxter's commentary which makes it more amusing. Yes, my lovely friends, below is the movie that I was watching late into the night when I should be sleeping and getting ready for school the next morning.

So after watching the movie, I finally figured out that Jak is in fact Mar. I felt so accomplished and now I know why I loved Jak and Daxter. The whole story is just mad epic!!
