Dark Hunter Series

My friend bought me a book about a year ago and for the longest it sat on my book shelf collecting dust.  He bought me Retribution by Sherrilyn Kenyon.  He bought the book thinking that I would be interested in it because I was obsessing over her League Series' book, Born of Shadows.  The book sat on my shelf for an entire year before I finally told myself to read it.  I had an entire debate with myself if I should read it or not because I never read any of her Dark Hunter series before.  The only book I was familiar with from the Dark Hunter series was The Dream Hunter, and I'm not sure if you want to count that as a Dark Hunter book.  At first, I just assumed that her Dark Hunter series was planly about vampires and sex, so I never was interested in reading any of the series.  But after Retribution, I was definitely wrong on that note and I can't wait to read the rest.  Retribution was a bit too short for me.  I, honestly, wanted it longer.  But then again since it was about the end of the world, I guess she couldn't make it that long.  After reading this book, I went to the library to try and find the first book.
(Because I am a broke college student, I rather get my books from the free public library rather than from the book store.  But once I get a nice paying job, I will buy all the books in the world.)  In my library they had a couple of books that she wrote.  Two books that stood out to me were Devil May Cry and Dark Side of the Moon.  I decided to read Dark Side of the Moon.  After reading Dark Side of the Moon, I read a lot of reviews online explaining how a lot of individuals were disappointed in the book.  I didn't find the book disappointing at all.  Who wouldn't like catman???  I just absolutely loved Ravyn and Susan.  But because this book was my second, it raised a lot of questions in my head.  I heard of Acheron before but after Nick's reaction in this book I'm starting to realize that there is way more to the story than what is explained
in this book.  Not only that, but the ending was definitely very interesting and I can't wait to read what happens next.
In order to figure out the story of Acheron, I decided to order the book through my university library.  In addition, in order to figure out what happened in New Orleans and get a better understanding of Nick, I figured it would be smart to start getting into the Chronicle of Nick series.  Surprisingly I was able to get a hardback copy of Invincible for a $5 at BooksAMillion.  Now, I have to find a place to find the first book because its not cool to read books out of order.  I did that with the League series.  The reading experience of the League series would be a lot better reading experience if I read it in chronological order.  I was overjoyed when I finally got Acheron from the library and also terrified.  The hardback book is humongous with over 500 pages and small font.  Not only that, but I also got the first book Infinity of the Chronicles of Nick series.  This is definitely the wrong time to receive these books all of a sudden especially since I'm walking into a nightmare.  So I guess I have to wait to read these books for two weeks.  I already started Acheron and read up to the present day part of the story.  Hopefully, I'll finish this book by the end of the month.
Lastly, I also received the book Time Untime from the library.  I didn't think it would come this fast.  As a result, the next on my 'to read' list is this book.  Then I will start the Nick series.  I'm more interested in what's going to happen to Ren rather than how Nick's story is going to play out.  Personally, I think its much better to finish something first rather than start something new.
