Unfortunately, I only read up to volume 2, at the end the anime series is AWESOME!!
Basic plot of the story:
"In a slightly different timeline than ours, the explosion of information and misinformation came to be considered a direct threat to society. In a daring decision, it was decided to create a new government agency dedicated solely to information management. Some thirty years later, in 2019, the government still monitors and controls information, suppressing anything they find undesirable, but standing against their abuses of power are the libraries, with their special agents called ‘the book soldiers.’"
At first I thought the idea of an actual government censoring and taking away books was a pretty stupid idea, but the plots that spin off this main plot is what makes the story interesting. Not only that, but the character development is fantastic in this story. Every character grew over the course of the story. It's a mixture of action/drama. I wish there were more than 12 episodes though. I enjoyed this series tremendously. I'm trying to buy the books now, even though it's taking me a long time. I have to admit, there were moments in this story where it had me laughing hysterically. Well, i can't wait to finish reading the novels.
